About the Department:
The Department of Philosophy started in the year 1971 for offering general degree in the subject and Honours course in Philosophy started in the year 1998 under the University of Burdwan. The department has six faculty members, one of them having Ph.D. degree, one have M.Phil. degree. Modern tools of learning including ICT are used regularly in the classroom to deliver lessons. The faculty members of the department are very much learned, enriched with their knowledge in Philosophy and also get updated regularly by attending seminar, conference, workshops, OP and RC. The faculty members are cooperative. and student friendly. As a result many students got 1st class from this department. They have got jobs in the colleges, schools and other various institutions.
Teacher-Student relationship is good and healthy. The academic atmosphere of the department is very much peaceful.
