History of the Department of Santali
Considerable percentage of population of rural Bankura is ST and majority of them are Santal. As a policy of the state govt. to uplift its tribe population and to meet the demand of the youths of the community Panchmura Mahavidyalaya started offering general degree course in Santali from 2012 and honours course from 2014.
Teachers of the department are sincere, cordial and dedicated to the cause of the students. Though the department is new, the success rate of the students in the final university examination is commendable. Adequate numbers of classes are held for the benefit of students.
